The Kuwaiti Ministry of Defence has extended its in-service support contract for the country’s Eurofighter fleet, with Leonardo continuing as prime contractor. The new agreement will see Leonardo Aviation Services deliver integrated logistics support and training at Salem Al Sabah Base until December 2029.
The extension strengthens the long-standing partnership between Leonardo and Kuwait. The Gulf nation ordered 28 Eurofighter Typhoons in 2016 to boost its air defence capabilities. Deliveries began in late 2021, and most of the aircraft are now in service. Built in Italy, Kuwait’s Typhoons represent the most advanced production standard available.
Leonardo Aviation Services, a Kuwaiti company, provides the Kuwait Air Force with engineering support, maintenance, repair, overhaul, upgrades, supply chain management, and training for both pilots and ground crews.
Offering tailored support solutions remains central to Leonardo’s global strategy, ensuring its technologies operate at maximum efficiency and effectiveness. The continued support in Kuwait will help maintain the high performance of the Eurofighter Typhoons in meeting the nation’s air defence needs.
